What is an online timer?

How to use it

  1. Enter hours, minutes, and seconds, or tap a preset.
  2. Press Start. Pause holds the time that is left, and Resume continues from that point.
  3. Reset returns to the duration you set. Full screen makes the digits easier to see from across the room.
  4. Open Study Mode on this page to run a sequence of study and break steps.

What you can do

  • Start, pause, resume, reset, and restart.
  • Fifteen presets, from 15 seconds through 60 minutes. These are buttons on this page, not separate addresses.
  • A short completion sound you choose, with a volume control and a button to stop the sound.
  • A progress bar that shows how much of the chosen duration is left.

Study Mode

Study Mode is a sequence of study and break timers on this same page. It starts as 25 minutes, 5 minutes, 25 minutes, and 5 minutes. You can edit each duration, add an optional label, and add or remove steps, up to eight. Repeat on returns to the first step after the last one. Repeat off ends the session after the last step. There is no separate Study Mode address.

Ways to use it

  • Kitchen steps, workouts, and short breaks.

Accuracy and browser limits

  • The countdown follows the target time. Returning to this tab corrects the display even if the browser slowed the page in the background.
  • Closing the tab, quitting the browser, or letting the system stop the process means the sound will not play.
  • A background tab can delay or block sound. iOS and Safari are often stricter than desktop Chrome.
  • Sound usually needs a tap or click on the page first. If playback fails, the finished state is still shown.
  • This is a web page, not a native alarm. Clearing site data can remove the saved timer.
  • If a Study Mode sequence was running when the browser closed, opening the page again moves to the step that fits the current time. Missed steps do not play a sound.

Questions

What is an online timer?

An online timer counts down a length of time you choose and reaches zero at a target clock time.

Does the timer stay accurate in a background tab?

The time left is recalculated from the target when you come back. A background tab can delay the sound, but the countdown is not measured by counting screen updates.

Will the timer work if I close the browser?

No. If you close the tab or the system stops the browser, alarmticar cannot play the sound. Opening the page again can show that the time has already passed.

Why might the timer sound not play?

Browsers can block sound until you press a control, and they can silence a background tab. The page still shows that the timer has finished.

Can I pause and resume the timer?

Yes. Pause keeps the remaining time. Resume sets a new target from that remaining time.

What is Study Mode?

Study Mode runs study and break steps one after another on this timer page. The starting sequence is two 25-minute study steps with a 5-minute break after each.

Can I repeat study and break timers?

Yes, inside Study Mode. Repeat on starts again at the first step after the last step finishes. Repeat off ends the session. The standard timer does not repeat by itself.

Can I change each study or break duration?

Yes. Each step has its own hours, minutes, and seconds, and an optional label stored only on this device. You can keep from one to eight steps.
